Australia’s contemporary writer Glenn Adams’s novel “Strongman Athletic Club” takes the protagonist Nilla’s struggle against EmpireCroplak’s sovereignty as the main line, using political fables to reveal the state’s construction, its deep political core, and Frustration society’s resistance and subversion to this kernel. With the background of oriental countries and the form of political allegories, the novel reveals the fraudulentness of the language of the people under authoritarian rule and the helpless and false support of the ruling class, as well as the vagueness and elusiveness of political resistance. The novel shows that powerful parties occupy a dominant position in state policymaking and have the flexibility and integration of a storm without collapsing. At the same time, the real symbols of so-called “truth,” “value,” and “meaning,” are the idealists who rebel against powerful regimes.
