He brought Snow’s letter of introduction, asking him if he could bring Carlson to the Eighth Route Army’s Wuhan office. Later, Carlson returned from the enemy guerrilla zone, he passionate about everything he witnessed. Carlson also wrote directly to President Roosevelt about these situations.
