Objective To understand and study the status quo of college students’ health literacy and lifestyles in colleges and universities at present, and provide the basis for developing nutrition and health education. Methods According to the principle of cluster sampling, 207 medical students and 208 non-medical students in Tongji Medical College were surveyed for their health literacy and life style. The questionnaires were distributed and recovered uniformly by investigators. Results Compared with medical undergraduates, non-medical undergraduates had lower nutrition knowledge scores and significant differences between men and women. The non-medical undergraduates had relatively irregular living habits and the living habits of medical majors needed to be further improved. Conclusions Various forms should be adopted to guide college students’ diet and behavior correctly so that they can form a scientific and reasonable lifestyle, so as to improve the overall nutrition and health status of college students.
