16 6 1年 3月 1日 ,为抗议贪官污吏的横征暴敛 ,苏州百余名秀才挺身而出 ,为民请愿。他们乘“哭庙”悼念顺治帝之际 ,组织领导了这场旨在反对地方官员贪污腐败的群众运动。结果反贪未成 ,18名秀才反被诬为“抗粮谋反” ,在江宁惨遭处斩 ,这是当时震惊江南的一起冤案。“哭庙案”是当时江南诸多社会矛盾尖锐冲突的结果 ,反映了清初苏州一代文人疾恶如仇、舍身取义的大无畏精神。
On March 1, 1981, more than a hundred scholar in Suzhou stepped forward to protest petty corrupt officials and petitioned the people. When they took “crying temples” to pay tribute to Shunzhi Emperor, they led the mass movement to oppose the corruption of local officials. As a result, the anti-corruption failed. 18 scholar was falsely accused of “fighting against food and conspiracy” and was severely beaten in Jiangning. This was an injustice shocked by Jiangnan at the time. “Crying the Temple Case” was the result of many sharp social conflicts in Jiangnan at that time. It reflected the dauntless spirit of a generation of scholar of Suzhou in the early Qing Dynasty who took a righteous turn for the worse.
