This concrete-structured microwave antenna tower, built on the Tsugaru Peninsula in Aomori Prefecture, is used for microwave radio communication between Honshu and Hokkaido. Its antenna points directly in two directions: toward Aomori and toward Hokkaido. This type of rectangular plane tower is rare in the world. It has installed as many antennas as two ordinary steel antenna towers, and the equipment room is arranged in the concrete tower body and does not require a separate equipment room. This will greatly reduce the occupied land. At the same time, due to the relationship between materials and forms, the building is in harmony with the local scenery; this is also important considering that it is within the scope of the national park. Each horn-shaped reflector antenna on the tower can handle three different radio frequencies - 4GH, 5GH and 6GH. In other words, it can take on the functions of three parabolic antennas. In this system, the waveguide is directly down from the antenna through the tower body and is electrically strong.
