The Mathematical and Economic Branch of the Chinese Quantitative Economics Society (externally referred to as the National Mathematical Economics Association) held a founding meeting at the Beijing Institute of Economics on June 5, 1990. Nearly 20 representatives of state organs, universities and research institutes in Beijing attended the meeting. Zhou Fang, an advisor to China Institute of Quantitative Economics, and He Juhuang, vice chairman of China Institute of Quantitative Economics, attended the meeting on behalf of the General Assembly.
