在北约组织轻武器弹药试验期间,北约轻武器试验管理委员会,注意到 HK 公司的 G11“是这次试验中唯一代表新技术的”步枪。而其它的步枪及弹都是在现有的原理基础上研制出来的。但在这次试验中,由于发射几发弹之后,弹膛生热,无壳弹自燃,从而名落孙山。这样,无壳弹武器系统遭到了不少人的冷遇,就连联邦德国政府也撤销了对研制工作的财政支持。在处境极端困难下,从事该项研制工作的 HK 和迪拿米特·诺贝尔公司却没有就此止步。1981年中期,他们不仅解决了自燃问题,而且也改进了G11的机构。至今,他们已研制了13代样枪。弹药也有了不少的改进。
During the NATO SALW trial, the NATO Light Weapons Management Committee noted that HK’s G11 “was the only rifle to represent the new technology in this trial.” The other rifles and bombs are based on the existing principles developed. However, in this test, as a result of launching a few bombs, the breech was heated and the shell-less bomblets spontaneously ignited. In this way, the shell-free bullet-proof weapon system has met with many people’s cold-shoulders. Even the German Federal Government has withdrawn its financial support for the development. In extremely difficult circumstances, in the development work of the HK and Dinamit Nobel did not stop there. In mid-1981, they not only solved the problem of spontaneous combustion, but also improved G11’s organization. So far, they have developed 13 generations of guns. Ammunition also has a lot of improvement.
