China is a country rich in drama and culture. Historical theater performances form part of the most lively and popular atmosphere in Chinese culture. In the prosperous era of Yuanza Zaju, there is a scene everywhere for the long-term drama of Yuan Za, whether it is a bustling city or a closed rural area. Huang Ben even thought in “The History of the Yuan Dynasty Drama” that “the performance was very active. The audience was extensively populated by the cities of Athens, Roman theater and Indian Van Gogh or even the Shakespeare era.” ① The ordinary Chinese people are not only involved in the historical evolution of Chinese drama as spectators, but they are also the main body of Chinese drama.
