石狮市位于福建省的东南部,原属晋江县的一部份。1987年12月,国务院批准设立石狮市,属省辖县级市,管辖范围包括三个镇一个街道办事处,共100个行政村(街),面积160平方公里,人口27万。 石狮是福建省的综合改革试验区,依据省委、省政府“在体制上更活一点,机构上更小一点,经济管理权限更大一点,干部素质更强一点”的指示,我市实行“小政府,大社会”,率先在精简机构,减少人员,转变职能等方面进行大胆实践,在国内外引起较大反响。
Shishi City, located in the southeast of Fujian Province, originally part of Jinjiang County. In December 1987, the State Council approved the establishment of Shishi City, which belongs to the county-level cities under the provincial jurisdiction.
