笔者试图从社会文化的角度探讨被传统语义学忽视的语言的非指称意义,即词语的联想意义及其交际功能。文章首先从语义学的传统的研究开始,而后的中心议题源于英国语言学家利奇对词语的联想意义定义所作的区分。词语的联想意义具有文化特性,具有同理性意义的词汇有不同的联想意义,而且会产生不同的交际价值。因此,在跨文化交际中,如果不能正确翻译词语的联想意义,人与人之间的交际就会受到阻碍。
The author tries to explore the non-referential meaning of the language ignored by traditional semantics from the perspective of social culture, that is, the associative meaning of words and their communicative functions. The article starts with the traditional study of semantics, and then the central issue stems from the distinction made by British linguist Leach on the definition of the associative meaning of words. The associative meaning of words has cultural characteristics, and the words that have the same meaning have different associative meanings, but also have different communicative values. Therefore, in the intercultural communication, if we can not correctly translate the associative meaning of words, communication between people will be hindered.
