随着时代与理论的发展,对于一直热衷于二元对立、形式的绝对中心的结构主义叙事学,其学者们被划为天真的实证主义者,他们追求形式的科学性与精确性,逃避意识形态,批评其不能给文本提供具有历史或是政治意义的理论范畴。追其根本叙事学最终的决定因素还是不断变化的复杂的社会常规与历史,意识形态的产物,一成不变的结构形式是不能持久发展的,叙事理论的发展应该进入一种重心突出但适应时代发展的平衡状态。这里的叙事意图化并不是对结构主义学的否定,而是一种内在的肯定与发展。
