The differences of TAS score among different majors were statistically significant (P <0.01), and the lowest in medical majors was 13.90 ± 5.087. There was also a significant difference in the rates of severe anxiety among different majors (P <0.01), and the lowest in medical majors (13.86%). Gender, family economic status and living environment had no significant effect on TAS score and severity of anxiety. Parents’ occupations had no significant effect on the TAS score, but their father’s occupations had a significant effect on the rate of severe anxiety (P <0.05). The rate of severe anxiety among students whose parents were professional technicians and civil servants was 13.64% Workers up to 29.36%.
