勘探固体矿床用小直径螺杆钻具进行“定向钻探技术的研究”，是地矿部“六、五”重点攻关项目之一，而造斜工具是该项目在实施时不可缺少的重要配套部件。由地矿部勘探所设计、无锡钻探工具厂试制的造斜工具—54型弯接头，经生产使用证明，在定向钻探施工中调整钻孔的顶角和方位角时，既简单又准确，完全达到了预期效果。已于1985年10月与YL-54型液动螺杆钻具一并通过了部级鉴定，现将研制及应用情况介绍如下。
