Objective: To study the expression of RNPC1 gene in patients with hematologic malignancies such as leukemia and lymphoma and its significance in the occurrence and development of hematologic malignancies. Methods: The expression of RNPC1 mRNA in bone marrow mononuclear cells of 32 patients with refractory leukemia, lymphoma and 10 healthy controls was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The χ2 test and the exact test of four tables were used for statistical analysis, and the difference of RNPC1 gene positive rate in each group was compared. Results: The level of RNPC1 gene was significantly higher in patients with hematologic malignancies than in controls (P <0.05). There was no significant difference between leukemia group and lymphoma group (P> 0.05). Conclusion: RNPC1 gene overexpression plays an important role in the pathogenesis of hematologic malignancies.
