彼得·海斯勒,中文名何伟,美国密苏里州人,在普林斯顿主修英文和写作,并取得牛津大学英语文学硕士学位。1996年,海斯勒跟随美国“和平队”以志愿者的身份来到当时还隶属于四川的涪陵,在涪陵师专从事英语教学工作,时间长达两年。在结束志愿工作回到美国后,海斯勒根据自己在涪陵期间的亲身经历写作《江城》一书,作品一经出版,便大受好评。
Peter Heisler, Chinese name Wei Ho, Missouri, United States, majoring in English and writing at Princeton, and obtained a master’s degree in English Literature from Oxford University.
