The (La_ (0.5) Ce_ (0.5)) Ni_ (5-x) Co_x-hydrogen system has been investigated by pressure-component measurement and X-ray diffraction. The 4-element (La_ (0.5) Ce_ (0.5)) Co_xNi_ (5-x) alloy was prepared by arc melting 99.5% pure rare earth metals and 99.9% pure transition metals in argon purged with Zr.
