《大学》是原始儒家的一篇重要文献,被朱子称为儒家“初学入德之门”(《大学章句》),其重要性不言而喻。但是,系统阐述儒家内圣外王之道的《大学》,其人性论的基础究竟为何,却是一个不易回答的问题,因为《大学》没有对人性论问题做出正面阐述,从其中仅有的一个“性”字,实难以断定其人性论的内涵与倾向,这与孟子和荀子对于人性论的高度重视和反复论说形成了鲜明对照。以往对于《大学》人性论的解读,往
