“Smart and fools and minions” is a seemingly simple but in fact rich in prose poetry. It not only makes a simple distinction and criticism on the types or philosophies of the three kinds of characters, but also embodies Lu Xun’s consistent “independent thinking”: it goes from the negative to the cleansing of servitude (self-servitude), cleverness At the same time, we can also use the intertextuality strategy to look into the long-term thinking of the related topics that permeate his life. For example, metaphor of “iron house” and breaking strategy, “fool” role can also be included Chinese and Western cultural roles of pedigree and Lu Xun’s own thinking to confirm and reflect on the chain.
