The rate constants for cross-cycloaddition and homo-cycloaddition reactions of p-me-thoxytrifluorostyrene and p-trifluoromethyltrifluorostyrene have been measured at 110-160℃ withthe help of the“KINETICS-I”computer programm.Our data,particularly the ■ function values(1.4-1.9)which are defined by eq 10 and related to the tendency of cross-cycloaddition,reveal thatvery likly there is an extra polar interaction in the transition state of the cross-cycloaddition reactionbetween donor-and acceptor-substituted trifluorostyrenes.
