This is not your average Dubai shopping experience, but as people search for a good find at the city’s flea market, it’s proving an increasingly popular one.
This market is held once a month here. It 2)started off as a very small project, but since the 3)downturn, it’s4)come into its own. An average of around 7,000 people turn up to this market every month, but that number has risen to around 13,000 in the past.
And that’s because it’s profited from the financial crisis. It started in the spring of 2008 and has grown rapidly since.

And then still, of course, people stayed in Dubai, and these people they took advantage out [sic] of people who had to sell things very quickly and cheap because they just wanted to leave the country.
The flea market is just one example of Dubai’s new-found retail thrift. In the past three years people’s spending power has fallen, which is why the flea market, business is booming. In a city with so many shopping choices, malls are more aware than ever that they need to listen to their customers to keep them coming back for more.
