汉语里,德的千古用法都是广义利他,“德即得”的认识是对古人的误解;德性是品质或行为具有利他的性质。古希腊的arete的含义是优秀性,它译为英文的virtue已经在大体上不准确,再译为汉语的德性,就更不准确了,因而产生很多的理解困难。它应当译为英语的fine、汉语的优秀性(佳性),这有利于文化比较的对位性。
In Chinese, the universal usage of Germany is widely altruistic. The understanding of “virtue is too much” is a misunderstanding of the ancients. Virtue is of altruistic nature or quality of conduct. The meaning of arete in ancient Greece is excellent, and the virtue of its translation into English has been largely inaccurate. It is even more inaccurate to translate into the virtue of Chinese, resulting in many difficulties of understanding. It should be translated into English fine, Chinese excellent (good), which is conducive to cultural comparative alignment.
