在医学界,媒介生物被解释为在传播人与人之间或人与动物之间的疾病中起作用的有机体。实际上媒介生物主要指吸血昆虫,它们吮吸感染宿主体内带有病原体的血液,然后在下次叮咬时将病原体注入新宿主体内。蚊虫这种传播疾病的方式众所周知,但某些吸血的蝇类也是如此。从广义而言,有机体不应列为昆虫家族,只能称谓媒介生物,蜱属蜘蛛家族,某些水生田螺是人类寄生虫的中间宿
In the medical world, vector organisms are interpreted as organisms that play a role in spreading disease among humans or between humans and animals. In fact, vector organisms mainly refer to blood-sucking insects that suck the pathogen-bearing blood in the infected host and then inject the pathogen into the new host at the next bite. The way mosquitoes are known to spread the disease is well known, but so are some blood-sucking flies. In a broad sense, organisms should not be classified as an insect family, but only as vector organisms, the ticks spider family, and some aquatic snails are intermediate hosts of human parasites
