近来接到读者的问题和反映,我们发现还有不少读者,对于酯的意义和酯化反应的历程,还不够清楚。按人民教育出版社出版的高中化学第三册第九章是这样讲的:“由酸和醇互相作用生成酯的反应,叫做酯化反应。根据酯的示性式 CH_3COOC_2H_5,C_3H_7COOC_2H_5和 CH_3COOC_5H_(11),我们可以把酯看作是烃基取代有机酸的羧基中的氢,而得到的产物。但是,实际上酯是醯基取代醇的羟基中的氢而生成的。所谓醯基,就是有机酸失去羧基中的羟基而成的原子团(RCO-)。例如:
