屈指算来,我从事戏曲剧本创作与辅导,已有四十多年的时间。实践证明,对于戏曲工作者来说,要写好唱词调整好押韵,拥有一本韵书实在是太需要了。上世纪七十年代,上级戏剧部门曾给发过一本袖珍本韵辙小册子,很简单只有少量的每个韵辙里的韵字,拿到它如获至宝。到八十年代上级戏剧部门又发了一本《常用字词韵编》与上次所发相比,十三道韵辙完全一样。不过收集的字词增加了不少,使用起来方便了许多。在写戏曲或曲艺唱词时,便不时地翻翻它,还确实帮助解决了押韵的一时之需。至今仍保留在身边。但它毕竟时过境迁,存在着明显的缺憾。
