莫17是目前玉米杂交制种中配合力较强,应用范围较广的自交系,但是,在制种实践中莫17种穗根部往往结实较差,很可能是因为莫17果穗苞叶过长的原因所致。为提高其结实率,提高制种产量,我们于1987年对莫17自交系做了剪苞叶试验。一、试验材料及方法试验材料为莫17×E28。试验方法是在同样栽培管理条件下的制种田内,随机选取60平方米作为试验区。分为剪苞叶区和对照区,各为30平方米,株距30厘米,垄距65厘米,2个处理各为150株,未设重复。在剪苞叶区内,当莫17花丝将要抽出时剪掉果穗苞叶顶部2~3厘米,观察其生育性状及经济性状的变化情况。二、试验结果 1.生育进程剪苞叶区从出苗到抽丝的日数为70天,与对照区相同;从出苗到成熟的生育日数为119天,比对
