卡氏肺孢子虫(Pneumocystis carinii,P.c.)可引起HIV-1感染者机会性肺部感染。尽管已知P.c.由空气传播,但是人类P.c.的传染源和传播途径仍不清楚。为了研究P.c.感染的流行病学,已用分子生物学方法进行P.c.的种株鉴定。
Pneumocystis carinii (P.c.) can cause opportunistic pulmonary infections in HIV-1 infected individuals. Although P.c. is known to be airborne, the source of infection and the route of transmission of human P.c. remain unclear. To study the epidemiology of P.c. infection, molecular identification of P.c. strains has been performed using molecular biology methods.
