我们希望国家社会进步,不能不希望教育进步,我们希望教育进步,不能不希望书业进步。我们书业虽然是较小的行业,但是与国家社会的关系,却比任何行业为大。——摘自陆费逵《书业商会二十周年纪念册·序》在上海市历史博物馆的文物库房里,珍藏着曾经矗立在中华书局的一块铜碑,鲜为人知。这块铜碑高约2米,宽1米有余,碑文端庄秀丽。碑文上书:“中华书局创业、总经理陆费伯鸿先生任职二十五周(年)纪念辞:中华书局成立于民国元年元旦,迄今二十五年,上海澳门路新厂同时建成,美轮美奂,气象一新。回溯二十五年中,营业屡挫折,支持艰巨,危而复安,始终独当其冲者,陆费伯鸿先生也。先生倡办中华书局被任为总经理,迄今亦二十五年,自奉薄,责己厚,知人明,任事专,智察千里而外,虑周~([1])百年之远。有大疑难,
