英国工业革命是一场改变社会生活的历史巨变,作为短期内直接遭受工业革命负面影响的下层民众,其基本生存状况与组成值得关注。这篇论文阐述了在英国工业革命的历史背景下,下层民众的基本构成是由农业工人、仆佣及制造业工人为主体,此外,还应包括乞丐、流浪汉、小偷及娼妓等其它下层成员。
The British Industrial Revolution is a tremendous historical change that has changed social life. As the lower-class populace directly affected by the industrial revolution in the short term, its basic living conditions and composition deserve attention. This essay illustrates that under the historical background of the British Industrial Revolution, the basic composition of the lower classes consisted mostly of agricultural workers, servants and manufacturing workers, and should include other members of the lower ranks such as beggar, homeless man, thief and prostitute .
