The integration of large-scale and comprehensive research into the world education system is very important for resolving the many serious problems confronting mankind today. In the United States, such macroscopic historical studies began in the form of Western civilization history courses one hundred years ago. After the Second World War, more and more colleges and universities set up global research courses and gradually developed in two directions. First, the study of globalization based on disciplines focuses on the power relations between regions and markets and is vertically stratified. Second, interdisciplinary research that uses the entire world as a point of reference presents a horizontal horizontal model. At the same time, academic models similar to the macro-history of the United States have also emerged around the world. One of the problems that scholars today face is how to reconcile these two models or perspectives not only to plan for global development but also to the survival of our own humanity. This article suggests that one of the ways to solve the above problems is to continue the development trend of the present era and go further by adopting a macroscopic research model such as the Great History.
