At present, the boring head used in production has a structure such as a nut drive and an eccentric type. However, the adjustment precision of these boring heads is not high enough and usually only reaches 0.01 mm. The Soviet Union developed a new boring head structure (author’s invention certificate 1289614), the adjustment accuracy of up to 1μm, or even less than 1μm.
