6月30日上午8时5分,广东省江门市江海区外海镇麻一村香港商人租赁的江门市土特产出口公司烟花厂发生爆炸。此次爆炸威力巨大,厂房基本夷为平地,并严重波及方圆一公里内的民宅和厂房。爆炸当场死伤195人,其中死亡32人,重伤19人,受损房屋1104间,其中倒塌16间,危房74间,受损面积超过30万平方米。 据记者目击,这片占地3000多平方米的花园式厂房化成了废墟,看上去像硝烟未尽的战场。工厂后面山坡上变成了一片焦土,前面近千平方米的香蕉林、竹林被冲击波荡平,泥土、石块被爆炸气浪掀到几百米之外。几位逃过劫难的工人告诉记者,当时的爆炸声“仿佛山动地摇”。
