Objective To understand the status of smoking and related behaviors of residents in Wuhu City, and to provide basis for formulating behavioral interventions and carrying out effective tobacco control work. Methods A multi-stage cluster random sampling method was adopted in September 2008. The resident population with the nearest survey date between the ages of 15-69 years old and the date of birth was selected as the survey object. Trained investigators entered the household to conduct a questionnaire survey and conduct the survey. Anthropometric. Results A total of 2290 permanent residents aged 15 to 69 were surveyed in this city. The smoking rate among residents was 28.2%, of which male smoking rate was 63.2%, and female smoking rate was 2.6%. Males were higher than females. Male smoking rates increased after age 30 (χ2 =32.24, P < 0.01). The standardized smoking rates were 30.2%, 56.3%, and 2.6%, respectively. There was a statistically significant difference in the degree of education and occupational smoking among the two groups (χ2=42.08, P<0.01; χ2=110.30, P<0.01), smoking behavior and drinking (χ2=695.35, P<0.01), and drinking tea (χ2). =348.79, P<0.01), Sleep time (χ2=13.97, P<0.05), Occupational physical labor intensity (χ2=56.39, P<0.01), Leisure activity intensity (χ2=23.41, P<0.01). There was no correlation between taste and body mass index, blood pressure, and waist circumference. [Conclusion] The smoking behavior in this city is mainly prevalent in men over the age of 30. Smoking is associated with multiple behaviors. Comprehensive interventions should be adopted in tobacco control work.
