It is known that the hepatitis B virus (HBV) core promoter (CP) is responsible for directing the pregenomic RNA (pgRNA) and the precore / core protein (preC / C protein) mRNA transcription plays a key role in HBV replication and morphogenesis [1]. Mutations in the CP region can affect HBV replication and transcription, and are closely related to the progress of liver disease. At present, the work at home and abroad mainly focuses on the correlation between the point mutation of A1762T / G1764A and e antigen expression, the seroconversion, the progress of liver disease and so on. The characteristics of deletion mutation in this area and its influence on HBV and host are still lacking understanding.
