In the enterprise computing environment, there is no single, more important place for performance requirements that exceed the performance requirements of database servers and applications that rely on database servers. This is why Oracle’s parallel server - OPS is a great idea. In the past few years, Oracle has been working hard to develop parallel servers. OPS, scheduled for release next month, will provide excellent scalability. Officials at Oracle Corp. estimate that OPS can provide about 75% scalability on Unix versions. OPS will also become the only parallel database server under Windows NT when it comes to market, which is a great accomplishment. This server allows database queries to several Oracle database instances simultaneously.
