国际法律图书馆协会(International association of lay libraies——IALL)是一家非政府、非商业性机构,1959年在纽约律师协会(Association of Bar of Nev York)的倡仪下刨建于美国。它的成立标志着法律图书馆从此有了自己的专业图书馆协会。1、宗旨根据协会章程,协会将“在合作,非商业,伙伴式的基础上促进从事法律文献采集、书目加工的个人、图书馆及其它机构的工作。”协会成员在获取法律文献及参考服务方面相互提供帮助,在国际级别上实施法律文献的交换,完善法律图书馆的活动。
