Tongue cancer is high in Southeast Asia, especially India. In China, according to statistics of malignant tumor deaths in Shanghai from 1963 to 1977, tongue cancer accounted for 26.4% of oral cancer deaths; Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Ninth People’s Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Second Medical College, and tongue cancer accounted for from 1957 to 1976. 37.2% of inpatients with oral squamous cell carcinoma. The study of oral cancer tissue culture in vitro was conducted earlier in foreign countries. After the establishment of the Hela cell strain, there was KB cell line of oral floor cancer and the HEp-3 cell line of buccal mucosal cancer established in 1954;
