阿拉善鹅观草属于亚洲中部区系成分，在新疆分布于东部干旱山地，总面积达９９８６３．４ｈｍ２，是一类较典型的丛生禾草草原，共有２个草地类型１０个草地型，其草地生产力较冰草和沙生针茅为建群种的草地高，是新疆东部地区主要的冬季放牧场。
Alashania ganshu belongs to the central part of Asia and is distributed in the eastern part of arid mountainous area in Xinjiang with a total area of 99863.4hm2. It is a typical cluster grassland with a total of 2 grassland types and 10 grassland types. The productivity is higher than that of the grass of Agropyron chinense and Stipa bungeana, which is the main winter pasture in the eastern part of Xinjiang.
