李肇星简介1940年10月生,山东省胶南县人,1964年毕业于北京大学;1967年至1970年,中国人民外交学会工作人员;1970年至1977年,中华人民共和国驻肯尼亚共和国大使馆工作人员、随员;1977年至1983年,外交部新闻司三秘、二秘、副处长。1983年至1985年,中华人民共和国驻莱索托大使馆一秘。1985年至1990年,外交部新闻司副司长、司长,外交部发言人。1990年至1993年,外交部部长助理。1993年至1995年,中华人民共和国常驻联合国代表、特命全权大使。1995年至1998年,外交部副部长。1998年至2001年,中华人民共和国驻美利坚合众国特命全权大使。2001年至2003年3月,外交部副部长。2003年5月至2007年4月任外交部部长。中共第15届中央候补委员,第16届中央委员。素有“诗人外交家”之称,出版有诗歌《李肇星诗集》;散文集《青春中国》。

Known as “Poet Diplomat ”, published poetry “Li Zhaoxing poetry”; essay “Youth China.”
