The first part of the infrared radiation detection technology unit, since the beginning of the 40’s research, the gradual evolution of development, maturing. August 1983 The Infrared Detector Technology Symposium held by the Institute of Photographic Engineers (SPIE) in San Diego, California, marks the culmination of this technology. Invited manuscripts deal with all types of typical detectors, indicating the current trends and pointing out some of the problems.
