The introduction of recombinant DNA-fragments into mouse embryos or the modification or inactivation of endogenous cellular genes in highly sophisticated ways and their inheritance to offspring make it possible to study the consequences of genetic alteration in vivo, termed molecular disease models. This research approach has contributed in recent years to understanding the function of genes and regulating their products. Transgene and Knockout - Mice are pathogenic and therapeutically accurate and repeatable models for a variety of medically important diseases. Transgenic and “gene removal” technologies are among the topics of modern molecular genetics and biomedical research Standard project.
