美国海军研究实验室(NRL)于1923年成立,现有人员3615人,1972财政年度投资为13亿5千8百万美元。该实验室的研究工作可分为四个方面: 1.电子学, 2.材料和一般科学, 3.空间科学和技术, 4.海洋学。现将其电子学研究方面的有关部分作一简介。电子学研究的主要任务是配合发展美海军雷达、通讯和电子战系统,其重点在于新工艺和新器件的研究。该实验室在军用接收机低噪声的研究方面投入较小的力量,主要原因是接收机易受干扰。更主要的工作是考虑系统的可靠性,操作如何简化以及自动化问题。在器件方面主要考虑如何解决功率晶体管的失效问题和提高其寿命。
The United States Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) was established in 1923 and currently employs 3,615 people. Its investment in fiscal year 1972 was 1,385 million U.S. dollars. The lab’s research can be divided into four areas: 1. Electronics, 2. Materials and General Sciences, 3. Space Science and Technology, 4. Oceanography. Now its electronic research related to make a brief introduction. The main task of electronics research is to tie in with the development of the U.S. Navy’s radar, communications and electronic warfare systems, with a focus on the research of new processes and devices. The lab has put less effort into low-noise research into military receivers, mainly because the receiver is susceptible to interference. The more important job is to consider the reliability of the system, how to simplify and automate the operation. The main consideration in the device how to solve the power transistor failure and improve its life.
