改革耕作制度,实行间作套种.改一年一熟为一年两熟,是提高农作物单产的有效措施.北疆地区无霜期短,历年来都是实行撩荒休闲或一年一熟制.近年来,在农业学大寨运动推动下,各地科技部门和生产单位,为了提高单位面积产量,进行了改一年一熟为一年两熟试验,显示出可喜苗头,如昌吉州园艺场和霍城猛进公社曾试种成功一年麦稻两熟;霍城县猛进公社一年两茬“60黄”油菜合计亩产480斤;昌吉州农科所进行了冬麦收后种春麦或一年两季春麦试验,等等.以上小面积试验材料说明,在北疆一些地区和单位如果能选好品种,安排好茬口,解决好劳力、肥料、水利和病虫害防治等问题,改一年一熟为一年两熟是可行的.这里刊登塔城地区一二三团子女学校春小麦一年两熟试验总结,供参考.
