Objective: To investigate the effect of massage and non-nutritive sucking on the growth and development of premature infants. Methods: A total of 114 premature infants were selected as research objects. Random number table was divided into control group and observation group with 57 cases each. The control group was given neonatal nursing care. The observation group was given non-nutritional sucking on the basis of comparison group. Group newborns daily weight gain, the first day, 7 days and 14 days into the amount of milk, body weight, head circumference, chest circumference and body length before and after neonatal care were compared. Results: The body weight of the observation group increased daily, the milk yield on the 7th day and the 14th day were significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). There was no significant difference between the two groups on the 1st day (P> 0.05). After nursing, the growth and development indexes such as body weight, head circumference, body length and chest circumference in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion: Touching joint non-nutritive sucking helps to promote the growth and development of premature infants, which is better than simple touching.
