唐山、丰南一带发生强烈地震后,我们在部队党委领导下,在炮兵老大哥部队医疗队和地方赤脚医生、卫生人员的密切协同下,在部队广大指战员和家属的共同努力下,艰苦奋斗,勇挑重担,连续奋战八昼夜,完成了大批受伤群众的短期收治和转送任务。在技术力量不足、医疗设备简陋、药品缺乏的困难条件下,作脾切除、肝修补、肠修补、截肢等大小手术200多例,除4例因伤势严重、抢救无效死亡外,全部安全转送到外地医院治疗。去年末,大部伤员已恢复健康,重返抓革命、促生产的工作岗位。
