冈瓦纳讨论会(Gondwana Symposium)是国际地质科学联合会(IUGS)地层委员会(Commission on Stratigraphy)冈瓦纳地层分会(Subcommission on Gondwana Stra-tigraphy)的一种学术活动,每4(偶或5)年召开一次。第六届由国际地科联冈瓦纳地层分会和美洲地质学会与美洲地球物理学会联合赞助,直接由美国俄亥俄州立大学地质学矿物学系和极区研究所主办,今年8月19—23日在俄亥俄州哥伦布城举行。来自阿根廷、澳大利亚、巴西、加拿大、中国、丹麦、埃及、法国、联邦德国、印度、日本、马达加斯加、新西兰、挪威、南非、泰国、英国、美国等18个国家的共152位地质学家到会。
The Gondwana Symposium is a scholarly activity of the Subcommission on Gondwana Stra-tigraphy of the Commission on Stratigraphy (IUGS). Every 4 (even or 5 ) Held once a year. The sixth is jointly sponsored by the International Branch of the Gondwana Stratigraphic Branch and the American Geological Society and the American Geophysical Society and sponsored directly by the Department of Geology and Geopolitics at the Ohio State University, August 19-23 Held in Columbus, Ohio. 152 geologists from 18 countries including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, the Federal Republic of Germany, India, Japan, Madagascar, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States .
