Objective To investigate the differences between high school students ’self-actual self and self-ideal self, parents’ standard and friend’s standard. Methods The revised self-linear scale was used to investigate 619 students from the first to third grade in Guangdong Province. Results Differences in realistic self and self-ideal self (reality / self-difference), difference between actual self and parental standard (reality / parental difference) and difference between actual self and friend’s standard (reality / friend difference) F = 43.95, P <0.01). (F = 3.94), the difference between the reality of the urban students (F = 4.94), the difference between the reality and the parents (F = 3.78) was higher than that of the rural students ) And real / friends (F = 8.11) were higher than boys, P <0.01; there was no significant difference among the three grades of self-difference. Conclusion Parents are generally less important than high school students in self-regulation, but their parents’ self-regulation in rural areas is more important than urban students. Girls perceive more realistic self and self-standards than their male counterparts, parents’ expectations and friends’ expectations The difference.
