11月19日,NASA成功将目前最先进的气象卫星送入太空,这颗卫星的成功发射,可增加天气预报的准确度。气象卫星由美国国家海洋和大气管理局负责管理,价值10亿美元,主要用于天气观测与预报。卫星(GOES-R)上搭载有6台科学设备,包括先进基线成像仪、地球静止闪电测绘仪、极紫外线X光辐射度传感器、空间环境现场监测器、磁强计、日光紫外线成像仪,可以对飓风、龙卷风、洪水、火山灰云、野火甚至太阳耀斑等进行高分辨率观测。
On November 19th, NASA successfully brought the most advanced meteorological satellite into space. The successful launch of this satellite can increase the accuracy of the weather forecast. Meteorological satellites are managed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States at a value of one billion U.S. dollars and are mainly used for weather observations and forecasts. The satellite (GOES-R) is equipped with six scientific equipment including an advanced baseline imager, a geostationary lightning tracer, an extreme ultraviolet X-ray radiation sensor, a space environment on-site monitor, a magnetometer, and a daylight ultraviolet imager High-resolution observations of hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, ash clouds, wildfires and even solar flares.
