本文的标题吸引了我,你看,明明是damages(赔偿),却意想不到地使用了动词award(授予)的过去分词！日本的公共浴室是人们的popularweekend leisure spots,但“规矩”要比中国浴室的规矩多多了。比如:Bathers areexpected to wash thoroughly before stepping into a communal(公共的)hot tub(浴盆)for a soak(浸泡).Alcohol and unruly behavior are taboo.不料,现在冒出一个 racial discrimination(种族歧视)的问题。本文的一个重要信息是:a lot ofpeople are suffering from discrimination in Japan!
The title of this article has attracted me. You see, obviously damages, but unexpectedly used the past participle of the verb award. Japanese public baths are popular weekendend leisure spots, but “rules” are much more than Chinese bathrooms. For example: Bathers areexpected to wash thoroughly before stepping into a communal (tub) for a soak (Alcohol).Alcohol and unruly behavior are taboo. Unexpectedly, there is now a problem of racial discrimination. An important message of this article is: a lot ofpeople are suffering from discrimination in Japan!
