作文修改历来是作文教学中的难点。现在多数学校仍然沿袭传统的老师精批细改的批改形式,其弊端颇多: 一是批改耗时费神,老师负担沉重。按每小时批改6~8篇的速度计算,两个班的作文批改一次至少需15~20个小时;城区学校班额太大,有达100人之多,耗时就更多了;再加上小作文、小练笔,老师的苦楚就可想而知了。二是批改形式单一,学生缺乏主动性。老师从内容到结构、从语言到写法全面细致地批改,一包到底,学生没有修改的余地,也没有修改的机会,丧失了修改作文的自主权。
