通过对盆内１０９个点砾岩砾石成分、砾径、古流向的系统统计与沉积学研究，确定该红盆历经三期洪积事件，形成８个冲积扇体。其中期为洪积事件鼎盛时期，形成５个冲积扇体，并在其内首次发现恐龙蛋化石，属晚白垩世中晚期
Based on the systematic statistics and sedimentology of 109 conglomerate gravels in the basin, the gravel diameter and the paleo-current direction, it is confirmed that there are eight alluvial fans formed in the Hongpen basin after three periods of alluvial events. The middle period was the heyday of the alluvial event, forming five alluvial fan bodies, and the first discovery of dinosaur egg fossils in it, belonging to late Late Cretaceous
